Small gatherings of believers characterized the early church. In Acts 1:13-14 we learn the Disciples and Jesus’ mother and brothers gathered “constantly together in prayer.” In Acts 2:46 the fellowship of believers “continued to meet every day together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together…” What happened in the early Church? The Holy Spirit entered the believers’ lives, and in Acts 2:47 we learn, “And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Many of our small group gatherings have been put on hold due to the pandemic and our efforts for not speading the virus. We are currently in process of resuming more Bible Study opportunities, Sunday School classes, and United Methodist Women.
Also Offered at Friendship
Friendship Membership Classes are offered as needed. This class orientates you with the history, structure and belief of affirming our mission statement of being a “church committed to making disciples for Jesus Christ.” Contact the church to find out when the next class begins.
Confirmation Class is a time for youth, 6th-8th grade, to explore their faith. Through the confirmation class, the youth begin a new journey of faith and discipleship. Classes are led by the pastor and involve church members as mentors or volunteer teachers. Upon completion of the class, the youth may make their own profession of faith and join in membership with the church.
Dates and times for a Confirmation Class vary depending on the the number of youth who would participate. The pastor can provide more information if you are interested.

Other Small Group Opportunities
Friendship offers a variety of other small group opportunities at various times throughout the year. We invite you to join a small group for Bible Study, service, and Christian growth. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:24, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” Make small groups a part of your spiritual growth.
A Bible Study of The Letters of Paul is an on-going study that meets on Tuesday afternoons at 2:00. Contact Dwin Caldwell or call the church office if you are interested in attending.
Friendship is currently working on setting up ZOOM contacts for bible study and small groups. Those who cannot attend in-person will be able to participate through ZOOM. More information will follow as we complete this process.
